The 18th Global Consultation on Inter-country Adoption and Alternative Child Care
Every two years, the National Authority for Child Care (NACC) convenes its local and international partners through the Global Consultation on Inter-country Adoption and Alternative Child Care to exchange best practices, address emerging challenges, and strengthen global collaboration in child welfare.
“Emerging Trends and Challenges in Inter-Country Adoption: Navigating the Future Together”
The Kaisahang Buhay Foundation (KBF) joined child welfare leaders, practitioners, government agencies, and partner organizations from across the globe, including our valued partners from Holt International USA and Vietnam, in meaningful dialogue and shared learning aimed at advancing ethical, child-centered, and future-ready to responsive adoption and alternative child care systems.
The plenary session moderated by our Executive Director, Glady Quindoza-Bunao, who also serves as a Council Member of the National Authority for Child Care (NACC), explored the evolving landscape of alternative child care and the collective actions needed to strengthen child protection systems across countries.
Across all sessions, the consultation provided space for meaningful exchange, reflection, and collaboration. Among the most powerful moments were the testimonies of Filipino adoptees, whose lived experiences reminded everyone that at the heart of every discussion is a child deserving of safety, love, and permanence.
"We return home with renewed inspiration, strengthened partnerships, and a deeper commitment to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to grow up in a nurturing and permanent family."
