Kaisahang Buhay Foundationโs advocacy continues to reach partner schools, equipping future professionals with trauma-informed and relationship-based approaches in caring for children and families. One of these meaningful engagements was at St. Maryโs College, Quezon City, where our Executive Director delivered a session on Understanding Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRIยฎ).ย
The session was attended by Social Work students from 1st to 4th year levels, as well as students from the College of Education. It was encouraging to see so many future social workers and educators eager to deepen their understanding of trauma, healing, and compassionate practice.
Beyond the lecture, this engagement also became an opportunity to share about KBFโs programs and services for children, families, and the communities they belong to. It allowed us to strengthen academic partnerships while raising awareness about our advocacy in alternative child care, family strengthening, and independent living support.ย
We are grateful to former DSWD Usec. Lulu Balanon, a strong supporter of KBFโs work since 1975 up to the present, for the invitation, and to Dean Doc Imee Macaraig and Prof. Lalaine for the warm welcome and partnership.
A special highlight of the session was the participation of our KBF Social Worker, Jewil, a proud alumna of St. Maryโs College, and the inspiring testimony of our ILEA Scholar, Zeldie, who shared how KBF and the TBRIยฎ camps impacted his life. His story is a powerful reminder that healing and hope are possible.ย
To our partners and supporters, thank you for making these engagements possible. Because of you, KBFโs advocacy reaches classrooms, communities, and future professionals who will carry forward the mission of protecting children and strengthening families.
Together, we are not only changing lives today, we are shaping the future
