Over the past several days, Typhoons Crising, Dante, and Emong have brought continuous rains and flooding to many areas in Metro Manila. Among those affected are families supported by Kaisahang Buhay Foundation (KBF) through our Educational Assistance Service (EAS).
From the latest information gathered by our FCOP team, a total of 357 families under our care have been impacted by the floods β 89 of them now staying in evacuation centers.
- π In Marikina, the most severely affected area, 175 families were hit by flooding, and 50 families are currently in evacuation shelters.
- π In Caloocan, 127 families were affected, with 24 needing to evacuate.
- π In Malabon, 50 families were displaced, with 15 in evacuation centers.
- π In ParaΓ±aque, 5 families experienced flooding, but no evacuations have been reported.
In many places, water rose to waist-deep levels, damaging homes and personal belongings. While some families were able to salvage a few essentials, others were left with nearly nothing.
And yet, in the face of loss, their spirit endures.
We are deeply thankful to share that all our sponsored children and their families are safe. Their strength during this time continues to inspire us, and their stories are reminders of the quiet courage found in our communities.
We ask you to join us in prayer β
- That these typhoons would soon leave our country, allowing families to return home and begin to rebuild.
- That the children affected will continue to feel the warmth of hope and the reassurance of Godβs provision as they move forward.
- That healing and comfort will embrace every family facing this difficult time.
Together, may we find strength in unity and peace in faith.
Stay safe, and thank you for keeping these families in your hearts.
