Warm greetings from Kaisahang Buhay Foundation (KBF) as we celebrate the International Day of Families!
First declared by the United Nations in 1993, the International Day of Families, observed every May 15, highlights the fundamental role families play as the cornerstone of society. It serves as a global reminder of our shared responsibility to protect, empower, and uphold the well-being of families in all their forms.
In line with this yearβs celebration, KBFβled by our Executive Director, Ms. Glady Q. Bunao, RSW, MSW, who also serves as Vice Chairperson of the National Committee on Filipino Families (NCFF), was honored to participate in the national observance event, together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development – DSWD and our fellow NCFF members.
As part of our participation, KBF setup an interactive booth to promote our Foster Care Program, one of our core services that provides loving, temporary homes for vulnerable children.Β Our dedicated Social Workers were on hand to warmly answer questions and engage with individuals and families interested in becoming foster parents.
At KBF, we believe that strong families are the foundation of strong communities.Β Through our Foster Care Program, Family and Community Outreach and Sponsorship Program for Children’s Education and Basic Needs, we continue to our commitment to holistic family development and long-term resilience.
As we look ahead to the Second World Summit for Social Development in 2025, we are reminded that real progress begins at home.Β When we support and empower families, we build a more compassionate and resilient nation for future generations.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited our booth and to all partners, donors and supporters who make our work possible.
