This one’s a bit longer — maybe not for everyone — but if you’ve stayed to read, thank you. This space feels more like my own little journal than a place to chase likes or comments, and I’m grateful for that.

I just wanted to share this update with you.

🌧️ Storm Impact and Data

“As I was writing a report for our partners and friends, the rain was pouring steadily outside — a quiet, sobering reminder of what many of our adopted communities are currently going through. My heart felt heavy thinking of the children we serve, but also relieved knowing they are safe.”

“In the past few days, continuous rains from Typhoons Crising, Dante, and Emong have caused flooding across several parts of Metro Manila. A total of 357 families supported by Kaisahang Buhay Foundation (KBF) through our Educational Assistance Service (EAS) have been affected — 89 of them currently staying in evacuation centers.”

“Floodwaters reached waist-deep in some areas, damaging homes and what little many families have. Some managed to save essentials, but others lost nearly everything.”

📍 Marikina
175 families impacted
50 in evacuation shelters

📍 Caloocan
127 families affected
24 evacuated

📍 Malabon
50 families displaced
15 in evacuation

📍 Parañaque
5 families affected
No evacuations

“That sound of rain brought me back to a time when my own family faced something similar…”

“The fear, the sudden changes, the helplessness — it all came flooding back.
Remembering that experience only deepens my compassion for the families affected now.”

“And yet, what stands out is their resilience. These children and their parents have been through so much, and still they press on with quiet courage and hope. It’s deeply humbling and truly inspiring.”

“When you pass through deep waters, I will be with you…”
— Isaiah 43:2

“Even as the floodwaters rose and uncertainty filled the air, I was reminded of God’s promise that when we pass through deep waters, He is with us; when the rivers rise, they will not sweep us away. It’s a quiet reassurance that even in the hardest moments, we are never alone. (Isaiah 43:2)

🙏 I ask for your prayers —

  • ✝️ That the storms would pass and allow families to return safely
  • ❤️ That the children would feel cared for, hopeful, and supported
  • 🕊️ That every household affected finds comfort, strength, and healing

Thank you for keeping them in your thoughts. 🤍 Stay safe, everyone.
